About Taisia
Building my career as an international businesswoman and becoming the founder and leader of Expat Psychologist in the Netherlands and Switzerland—through studying psychology and completing my MBA—has been my greatest professional achievement so far. On a personal level, having had the opportunity to travel to more than 65 countries (and counting) is something I deeply cherish. I remain profoundly grateful that life’s journey has been so generous and has allowed me to learn, grow, and contribute in ways I never imagined.
Expat Psychologist has grown into one of the leading expat-focused mental health services in the Netherlands, with several locations across the country. Guided by my dream to support expats worldwide, I have since expanded my work to Switzerland. I take pride not only in being a positive role model for other psychologists but also in providing high-quality, client-centered care to anyone struggling to adapt to a new country and culture.
Being a good leader is deeply important to me. My philosophy of leadership is a subtle dance between recognizing my personal strengths and understanding the needs of the people I lead. My goal is to embody the values I hold dear—such as emotional intelligence, empathy, and integrity—while inspiring my team to grow into the best versions of themselves.
Completing my MBA in International Healthcare Management was one of my major professional goals. I am eager to integrate what I have learned about management and sustainable relationship-building with the experience I have gained from leading my incredible team at Expat Psychologist. I look forward to continuing to grow as a leader, supporting my team, and ensuring that our services reach and benefit as many expats as possible.
I also take great pride in being recognized as an Expat Expert. This title feels like the culmination of my experiences, challenges, and determination that brought me to where I am today. It motivates me to keep striving for something greater—to expand our highly qualified team globally and help internationals fulfill their true potential. Above all, I aim to provide accessible and compassionate psychological care to anyone who needs it.
How It All Began
One of my earliest memories from growing up in an orphanage was feeling very small—both in size and in the world. I was a curious child, always eager to explore. I remember a large window I could never reach. One day, when I finally managed to climb up and look outside, I was amazed to see a big, beautiful yard. That simple moment sparked something inside me – a desire for freedom, discovery, and possibility. I began to imagine what it would be like to see the world beyond that window.
That experience became symbolic for me. The sadness of not being able to reach the window reflected a deep knowing that the world had so much to offer – and I was determined to find it. I believe that moment set the foundation for my lifelong goals and values. It inspired the curiosity and perseverance that eventually led me from the orphanage to new places like Syria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Nigeria, and Switzerland. Each of these countries gave me new perspectives, opportunities, and lessons that shaped who I am today.
Traveling has not only allowed me to experience different cultures but has also helped me better understand people – something that enriches both my personal life and my work as a psychologist. My love for travel inspires my work, and my work, in turn, fuels my passion to see and understand more of the world. Some people live to work, and some work to live – but I feel fortunate to do both.

Everyone deserves to be happy!
My greatest passion is people. I am grateful that I get to live this passion every day – whether by helping clients find their balance or by connecting with different cultures around the world.
Through my travels and experience as an expat, I have seen how perceptions of mental health differ across societies. One message I want to share with everyone is that seeking help is an act of courage. Despite the stigma that still surrounds therapy, reaching out to a professional is one of the bravest steps you can take toward improving your life.
From the very beginning, my vision for the mental health field has been to make psychological support accessible to everyone – especially individuals from developing countries who often lack such resources. Everyone deserves the chance to heal, grow, and be happy.
